Russia has begun to turn Iran into a gas hub
A Russian gas pipeline is to be built through Azerbaijan to Iran. Deliveries are expected to start with 2 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
Additional gas will be supplied by undersea pipelines from the Caspian Sea, bringing total gas exports to 110 billion cubic meters per year.
Iran will then export the gas to countries in the region using its ports and infrastructure.
The entire gas supply will replace the sabotaged Nord Stream, which was intended to turn Germany into a gas hub
